Residents near Caltech were evacuated Friday morning after a report of a gas line break.
Residents near Cordova Street and Chester Avenue reported a strong gas odor for several blocks around, said Lisa Derderian, spokeswoman for the Pasadena Fire Department. Caltech owns a few of the evacuated buildings.
Utility workers were at the scene of the two-inch gas line leak as of 11 a.m. Friday.
