The Community Health Alliance of Pasadena will receive millions in federal grant funding over the next five years to provide medical services for uninsured residents, Rep. Adam Schiff (D- Burbank) announced Tuesday.
The organization, also known as ChapCare, was awarded $2,677,501 in annual Department of Health and Human Services funding for the five-year period.
“With these new federal funds, [ChapCare] will be able to continue providing health services to many more low-income families,” said Schiff. “This grant will ensure that their important work can continue and expand.”
Some 15,000 Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley residents make more than 54,000 primary health care visits to ChapCare health centers each year.
