Space shuttle Endeavour will take a scenic route through Los Angeles on Friday, passing over some of the region's most popular landmarks.
The shuttle is scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport around 11 a.m. Friday. But before it lands, it will fly over Disneyland, Griffith Observatory, the Getty and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, according to a JPL spokesman.
JPL is not planning any special viewing event for the occasion, but employees are slated to watch the skies as it passes over the NASA center sometime between 10 and 11 a.m.
Endeavour is scheduled to depart Kennedy Space Center on top of a 747 airplane early Wednesday. The shuttle's tour has been delayed twice.
The shuttle's tour includes a pit stop in Houston before flying over California. It will hit landmarks in Northern California before making its way toward Los Angeles. The shuttle is touring the area before arriving at its new home at the California Science Center.
